Arlo is one of the three Team GO Rocket leaders that players can encounter. Like the rest of them, he has many Pokemon that plenty of trainers would want to use themselves. He is guaranteed to use Beldum as his starting Pokemon, but his second and third Pokemon are selected from specific pools in each encounter with him. Arlo can have either Gardevoir, Aggron, or Infernape as his second Pokemon and Scizor, Armaldo, or Salamence as his final Pokemon.

First Party Member - Beldum

Pokemon Beldum

As mentioned previously, Beldum will always be the first Pokemon that Arlo will send out in a battle against him. It is a dual Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon making Beldum weak to Fire, Dark, Ground, and Ghost-type moves. Beldum however resists Dragon, Ice, Normal, Grass, Steel, Rock, Flying, Fairy, Psychic, and Poison-type moves.

Being Arlo's weakest Pokemon, players shouldn't waste too much time or resources on the fight against Beldum. The Pokemon that can best take it down quickly are:

Reshiram - Fire Fang and Overheat

Chandelure - Fire Spin and Overheat

Gengar/Mega Gengar - Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball

Darkrai - Snarl and Shadow Ball

Darmanitan - Fire Fang and Overheat

Possible Second Party Member - Gardevoir

Pokemon Gardevoir

The first of the possible Pokemon that Arlo can use in his second party slot is Gardevoir, a dual Psychic and Fairy-type Pokemon. Its typing makes it weak to Poison, Ghost, and Steel-type moves while resisting damage from Psychic, Fighting, and Dragon-type moves.

Gardevoir has the potential to cause players some trouble and deal out too much damage before players move on to Arlo's final Pokemon. Working with its weaknesses however will reduce the risk of taking it on however. Some of the most highly recommended Pokemon for the job are:

Metagross - Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash

Chandelure - Hex and Shadow Ball

Jirachi - Charge Beam and Doom Desire

Excadrill - Metal Claw and Iron Head

Infernape's typing makes it weak to Flying, Ground, Psychic, and Water-type moves, but it also resists Steel, Grass, Ice, Dark, Fire, and Bug-type moves.

This Pokemon's best stats lie in its attack, so players will need to take Infernape down before it can take down too many of their own Pokemon. Some of the best Pokemon to use in the fight are:

This weakness is toward Fire-type moves while Scizor additionally actively resists damage from Dragon, Ice, Psychic, Normal, Bug, Steel, Fairy, Grass, and Poison-type moves. This is all due to Scizor's status as a dual Bug and Steel-type Pokemon.
