Pokemon GO has a lot of changes and exciting new features coming when the GO Beyond update arrives in early December and ushers in a new era for the mobile AR experience, but maybe there are more surprises on the way, as well. Last night the game's social media accounts began teasing some kind of surprise announcement that seems to be related to Battle Raids, but it be a while before we learn more details.

Originally, a tweet from Pokemon GO featured a 6-hour countdown and players were predicting that a new Raid Boss would appear when the timer was up. As it turns out, when that timer expired there was just another mysterious tweet instead. The second one featured a 44-hour timer, which means that either the reveal (or the next hint) likely won't show up until Monday morning, around 11am pacific time.

It's no surprise that the mobile AR game will get some new Battle Raid bosses when December arrives, including changes to the Mega Raid lineup and the Legendary Battle Raid tier. It is possible this countdown is just hyping up that rotation, but that would be very strange, considering raid boss rotations happen at least once or twice a month and usually don't warrant this kind of mysterious teaser.

For some context, here is a look at both of the tweets that appeared that last night...

First Teaser

Second Teaser

Predictions from the playerbase range everywhere from the chance to catch a second Mew to Kecleon to something more like Espurr. Pokemon GO definitely enjoys a good teaser, so it won't be surprising if some other hints end up dropping between now and the actual announcement or reveal. Either way, it shouldn't be too long until players know more.

The limited time Nidoran research event wrapped up last night, which means players can now spend the day continuing to enjoy the ongoing Days of Friendship bonuses to help pass the time until the announcement arrives. Those bonuses will be wrapping up when December arrives and the Season of Celebration officially kicks off.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events and waiting for the GO Beyond update to officially arrive, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
