Fashion Week is officially underway in Pokemon GO, and it features a variety of activities for players to complete. Amidst these activities is a batch of Fashion Week Timed Research, which unfolds over the course of five stages. There are tasks in several of these stages that instruct Pokemon GO fans to battle Fashion Challengers, and this guide is here to assist players that may be confused about exactly how that is done.

Where to Find Fashion Challengers in Pokemon GO

The first step toward battling a Fashion Challenger is to locate one, and players should focus their searches on PokeStops in Pokemon GO. Indeed, Fashion Challengers have a chance to appear at these special locations, and it is possible to determine if one is present from a distance. To do that, fans should simply observe the cube on the top of a PokeStop, and a shaking cube indicates that a Fashion Challenger is there.

How to Battle Fashion Challengers in Pokemon GO

After identifying a suitable PokeStop, players should approach it to force the Fashion Challenger to appear. Fans should then interact with the PokeStop and press “Battle” to declare their intentions. The fight will not start immediately upon pressing this option, though, as players will be given an opportunity to select their teams. While fans do not need to have the best Pokemon in Pokemon GO to defeat a Fashion Challenger, they should be sure to choose some strong options here.

Types of Fashion Challengers in Pokemon GO

To note, PoGO players will encounter several different types of Fashion Challengers as they work to complete the Fashion Week Timed Research. Each of these Challengers have their own unique teams, and here is how that breaks down:

  • Eccentric Challenger: Furfrou, Graveler, Blitzle
  • Quirky Challenger: Furfrou, Braixen, Shinx
  • Cool Challenger: Furfrou, Sneasel, Gothitelle
  • Sassy Challenger: Furfrou, Butterfree, Vaporeon
  • Slick Challenger: Furfrou, Croagunk, Obstagoon
  • Rugged Challenger: Furfrou, Kirlia, Mienshao

As fans are sure to notice, Furfrou is on every Fashion Challenger’s team, which makes sense considering that this Normal-type Pokemon has just made its debut in the game. While players will not earn an encounter with Furfrou in Pokemon GO by battling Challengers, there are a number of ways to go about getting the Pokemon. As examples, Furfrou currently has an increased spawn rate in the wild and can be encountered through the completion of certain Fashion Week Field Research and Timed Research tasks.
