A new month is here, which means Pokemon GO players have a ton of activities to stay busy. In addition to tracking down all the new research tasks and breakthroughs, April brings a handful of exciting in-game events and yet another chance to battle Giovanni and earn a free Legendary Shadow Pokemon encounter.

Things are going to work a little differently in April, so don't get too excited just yet. Usually, Pokemon GO players who have completed all of their Team GO Rocket Special Research are able to access another chain of shadow quests. This month, there is just an additional four weeks added to The Shadowy Threat Grows. This monthly repeatable chain allows players to prove their worth against Team GO Rocket and eventually face off against the same big boss as March for a powerful reward.

Players should keep in mind that if they are not caught up on their other Team GO Rocket Research storylines, then this repeatable series will not be available in their list of available content. The rewards are definitely worth the work, so trainers should try to get caught up and back on track before they miss out on this powerful Legendary.

Entei is one of the most relevant Pokemon to the PvE metagame, so having another powerful, high IV copy in your collection is never going to be a bad thing. The challenges shouldn't be very different from last month's, so prepare for some Grunt battles and start working your way through.

Shadow Entei and The Shadowy Threat Grows Special Research

For the month of April, Shadow Entei will still be available to save from Giovanni! There will not be a new set of Team GO Rocket Special Research in April. If you haven’t had a chance to finish The Shadowy Threat Grows yet, now you have until the end of April.

Team GO Rocket never rests, Trainers, and neither can we! Be on the lookout for new Team GO Rocket Special Research from Professor Willow every month.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
