The success of Pokemon GO has spawned various ancillary apps that help players gain an added advantage, like the tools that help spoof GPS locations — which Niantic recently took steps to disable. Now, a new app has been released that gives players the ability to see exactly where nearby Pokemon are located.

PokeVS offers unlimited scanning for a subscription fee of $9.99 per month, as well as cheaper rates for scans of a particular area. Given that catching monsters in Pokemon GO can often require a lot of guesswork, it's easy to see why players might be interested.

Pokemon Go Legendary Monsters Coming Soon

Shortly after the game's release in July 2016, there was a minor outrage when Niantic removed its tracking mechanic. The system has since been replaced, but PokeVS makes it even easier to track down specific Pokemon — so long as the trainer is willing to part with some cash.

It remains to be seen whether or not Niantic will take steps to close down PokeVS. It perhaps wouldn't be too difficult, as the app is likely sourcing its information on where Pokemon spawn directly from the studio.

Pokemon GO is available now for iOS and Android devices.
