Pokemon GO implemented a ton of exciting changes in the last few days including everything from new Lure Modules to the long-rumored release of Glaceon and Leafeon. In the midst of new items and new steps towards a complete Pokedex, it may have been easy to overlook the addition of an exciting new move, as well.

Pokemon GO players now have access to the popular Ground-type move Earth Power for certain new sinnoh region Pokemon. That's not all though. A few existing Ground-type creatures are also gaining access to the powerful PvP charge move.

Earth Power is a strong attack that can be used to lower the opponent's defense in Trainer Battles. It should be a pretty relevant ability and actually have a significant impact on the metagame.

"Certain Pokémon recently arrived from the Sinnoh region will know Earth Power. Other Pokémon that could know Earth Power include Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Aerodactyl, Camerupt, and Claydol."

With tons of shiny Aerodactyl's flying around, that is sure to become a popular Trainer Battle roster choice now that it has this new tool. It will be very exciting to see how the metagame shakes out and what new counters emerge to defend against the inevitable new Ground-type overlords.

PvP Battles aren't quite as popular as PvE Battle Raids, but the feature has been growing in popularity, so it's very promising to see new moves being add and an effort being made to shake up the Battle League metagame.

Be sure to check back in the coming days for more Pokemon GO news, updates, and strategy guides. Until then, good luck out there, trainers.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
