Pokemon GO is ready for Christmas with its Holiday Research Tasks, ice Pokemon, and Pokemon in holiday outfits. But players are coming across some difficult ice Pokemon in raids this holiday season, and one of the most sought after is the Abomasnow. If players are looking to battle one of these grass and ice types, they will need to be ready with some fire to melt its ice attacks.

About Abomasnow

Abomasnow is a Tier 4 raid boss with 24,082 CP, so this Pokemon will have the updated Raid Rewards. As mentioned, this Pokemon is both grass and ice type. It has access to Ice and Grass fast moves as well as Ice, Dragon, and Grass type charge moves. Players can catch Abomasnow at level 20 (1281-1349 PC) and boosted at level 25 (1601-1687 CP). Abomasnow has some pretty strong attacks too; Razor Leaf and Blizzard do a little over 10 DPS. While it may look intimidating, Abomasnow has some pretty big weaknesses that players can exploit.

Abomasnow's Weaknesses

The best counters to Abomasnow are fire-types. With Abomasnow taking double damage from fire attacks, players will want to make sure to focus on strong fire Pokemon to defeat this icy monster. Some of the best Pokemon to go into battle with it are Heatran, Entei, Chandelure, Moltres, Blaziken, Ho-Oh from last week's raid, or any other high-level fire-type players have in their inventory.

Abomasnow

While Abomasnow is incredibly weak to fire, it is also weak to Bug, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Rock, and Steel. It has resistances against Electric, Ground, Grass, and Water attacks.

Finding Abomasnow Outside of Raids

Players should be able to chase down this Pokemon while raiding, but it can also be caught through research encounters and in the wild, though it is pretty difficult to come by. Players can perhaps catch one out and about while they chase down all of those Holiday Special Spawns that are part of this week's events.

Between the updated Raid Rewards, the cool ice Pokemon raids, and the pool of hatchable Pokemon down to reasonable numbers, players should have a very merry holiday season.

Pokemon GO is available for most mobile devices.
