The Pokemon franchise has grown exponentially since its first 150 designs were released. From this first generation of Pokemon, the universe has now reached almost 900 total designs for these creatures. But even this impressive total has done little to curb the number of fan creations and fusions. In the latest example of this passion, one Pokemon fan combined Mega Mawile and Serperior.

The Pokemon franchise has been around for 25 years and produced a number of television series, video games, and trading cards in this time. Ever since the beginning, Pokemon fans have made tributes to the series and shown off their own creations through fusions and original designs.

This fusion was created by u/Lunhala and it combines one of the more powerful steel type Pokemon, the Mega evolution of Mawile, with the final evolution for Snivy, Serperior. Mawile was originally introduced with the third generation of Pokemon. Serperior, meanwhile, was introduced in the fifth generation of Pokemon and is a grass type that evolves directly from Servine at level 36.

This combination takes the primary colors of Mega Mawile and adds them to the serpent shape of Serperior. The resulting creation also adds in Mega Mawile's head, its two large jaws, and its arms to complete this new fan-made fusion. If this design were cannon it very well might result in a Steel and Grass type, much like Ferrothorn and its earlier evolutions.

Fusions are a tradition by now in the Pokemon community and this one by u/Lunhala is a prime example. Their choice in Pokemon to fuse together works really well despite the almost polar opposite designs of the originals. The mix of a humanoid and a serpent is quite an undertaking but they combined the two with ease.

Pokemon fusions are a great way for the Pokemon community to get involved with the creation and designs from the in-game world. The creative nature of the Pokemon universe and its designs has led to a flurry of fusions of the years. This recent creation is a perfect example of the community playing with designs and making something great.

Then again, not all of the Pokemon community loves the idea of fusions. Moving away from cannon creations just isn’t for everyone, regardless of the skill of the new design. Either way, u/Lunhala made a great and believable new Pokemon fusion and it looks just like an official design.
