An artistically talented Pokemon fan has created a piece of art combining Shedinja and Yveltal together, and with some amazing results. The Pokemon fandom is well-established as arguably the most creatively inclined of any in pop culture, with this latest fusion art being yet another example of its artistic prowess.

The two Pokemon fused together in the piece of fan art are an interesting pair. Shedinja is a dual-type Bug/Ghost Pokemon, only obtainable while evolving Nincada into Ninjask with an open party slot and a Poke Ball. Yveltal is the Pokemon of Destruction, a Legendary, and the mascot of Generation 6's Pokemon Y.

Upon initially thinking of the two Pokemon, the duo seem like quite the random pairing. However, the fusion art produces a visually distinct and somewhat creepy design. The artwork primarily features the massive Pokemon Yveltal, with the Legendary's body almost perfectly intact, except the entire color scheme has been shifted to that of Shedinja. The red and black have been replaced with tan and brown respectively, with the feathery neck ruff a curious shade of pink. The head is entirely Shedinja, with its halo a matching pink, resulting in quite the distinct and mildly unsettling design.

A large factor likely contributing to the fused Pokemon's intimidating vibes stems from the life-draining nature of both Yveltal and Shedinja. Yveltal has the ability to absorb the life energy of any Pokemon by spreading its wings and tailfeathers, turning those affected into stone. While not as overt of an ability, a recent Pokemon TCG card of Shedinja reveals the Pokemon may be capable of something similar. Not only does the newer Shedinja card have an attack called Life Squeeze, but the artwork features an actual dead human in the background.

The unique Pokemon fusion art has been well received by fans on the r/pokemon subreddit, with the post garnering just short of 500 upvotes at the time of writing. The artwork's inherent creepiness has been conveyed to other fans as well, with the comments section filled with remarks such as "I am oddly creeped out." This actually isn't the first fusion fan featuring the Pokemon, at least with Shedinja. Earlier this year, another Pokemon fan combined Shedinja with Gardevoir, along with Gyrados and Corsola, and Skitty with Cofagrigus.

The Pokemon fusion art of Shedinja and Yveltal is certainly impressive, and will hopefully lead to more contributions from its creator. While the fan-made Pokemon design may be a bit creepy to some, it's nowhere near as unsettling as a "biblically accurate" Golbat.
