A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan has reimagined Fuecoco, turning the starter Pokemon into a futuristic robot. The fanart is gaining attention from fellow Pokemon fans who enjoy unique twists on existing Pokemon designs.

Fuecoco is one of the latest Pokemon to join the series, appearing as the Fire-type starter for new trainers to choose from in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The cute crocodile-like Pokemon gained fans from its first reveal alongside Sprigatito and Quaxly, as well as non-starters like Lechon.

Now, Pokemon fan StarkhouseStark has shared their reimagining of the cute starter, turning the Pokemon into a robot. The resemblance between the two is quite strong, with the new version having a robot toy aesthetic similar to those based off of pet cats and dogs. Although the coloring and overall shape of the Pokemon robot are nearly identical, there are some standout qualities that set it apart, namely exposed metallic parts on the arm, loose wiring sticking out of the tufts on its head, a display panel for its eyes, and some visible circuitry running along the top of the mouth. To add to its cuteness, robot Fuecoco is actively munching on an ice cream sandwich.

Fans of the piece have been charmed by the design, suggesting unique names for the robot form of the Pokemon like Iron Chompers and Iron Croc. One pointed out that eating an ice cream sandwich may not be best the idea for its internal components. With electrical sparks emanating from the Pokemon's tufts, it's possible that this version of Fuecoco could be an Electric-type, or perhaps cross its initial Fire-typing with Electric-typing.

The Pokemon series has opened the floodgates for reimaginings like this one over the years with its creative twists on existing Pokemon designs and typing. Everything from Mega Evolutions to Paradox Pokemon have taken what fans knew about Pokemon and turned it on its head, often completely changing the designs of classic Pocket Monsters. With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC still on the horizon, new versions are likely to keep coming alongside brand new Pokemon that have never been seen before in the history of the franchise.

Of course, fans didn't need much to generate new ideas of their own for Pokemon. The fanbase has been making creative fan designs of brand new unique Pokemon, hybrid fusion mash-ups, and clever Shiny variants since the series' early days. Though the series is nearly thirty years old at this point, it seems the Pokemon games, anime, and other media will always provide a source of inspiration to artists and creatives all over the world.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
