Pokemon themselves come in a variety of shapes, sizes, purposes, and typings. Psychic-typed Pokemon are considered the odd one of the bunch as stereotypic loners and misunderstood folk as assumed to be the ones most interested in them. Truthfully, the Psychic-type is home to some incredible Pokemon, with more than a handful of them being forgotten to time for one reason or another.

8 Smoochum

The Kanto region Pokemon called Jynx has very few redeeming qualities about itself. Depending on who's asked, though, Smoochum at least brings some likability to a rather problematic final evolution.

This baby Pokemon was introduced in the second generation of games, Pokemon Gold & Silver, and called the Johto region home. Smoochum's dual-typing of Ice and Psychic is also rather unique. Most people tend to remember other baby Pokemon such as Pichu or Togepi, while others like Smoochum get lost in the fold.

7 Grumpig

When looking at the entirety of the Pokemon roster across generations it's easy to identify more than a handful of creatures inspired by pigs. Among all of them, though, only one evolutionary line has the Psychic-typing and that happens to be Grumpig's.

The Manipulate Pokemon is the final form of Spoink, which evolves at level 32. The small black beads on Grumpig's head are precious gems it must protect as they help amplify its Psychic-type power. According to the Pokedex, it can assume control over its opponent thanks to its weird dancing techniques.

6 Indeedee

Pokemon Sword & Shield were the eighth generation of games, and with them came dozens of new Pokemon. Scattered amongst the newest creatures was a cat-like Psychic and Normal dual-type creature called Indeedee.

Differentiating male and female forms of a specific Pokemon is always neat, and Indeedee is a shining example of that. Each sex has its own abilities and base stats, and move sets. Most fans prefer female Indeedee in terms of appearance, but the male forms for battle as they have more well-rounded base stats.

5 Girafarig

Girafarig falls in line as one of numerous Pokemon that are simply wasted potential on the part of GameFreak and The Pokemon Company. Its design is meant to look like inverse reflections of one another, which is neat when considering its name is a palindrome.

For years fans wondered if this Psychic and Normal dual-type giraffe would get an evolution and that has yet to happen to this day. Outside of its special attack rating, most of its base stats warrant an evolutionary form that could both elevate its unique design, as well as make it more viable in a battle against other Pokemon.

4 Beheeyem

The world of Pokemon has always had a weird relationship with how it talks about alien lifeforms and whether or not some Pokemon are actually extraterrestrial. Elgyem and its final form Beheeyem are shining examples of Pokemon that register as alien in both design and vibes.

Known as the Cerebral Pokemon, Beheeyem is the result of an Elgyem reaching level 42 and unleashing its full Psychic-type capabilities. It communicates with the lights on each of its three fingers and can alter the memories of other living things by accessing its latent psychic powers.

3 Munna

Munna, a Psychic-type from the fifth generation of games, is a perfect example of a Pokemon looking adorable but being sinister in its actions. Its label as the Dream Eater Pokemon harkens to its desire to eat the dreams of people.

Sure, it can sometimes relieve humans of nightmares that haunt their dreams, but it also enjoys robbing people of happy and fulfilling dreams as well. The image of walking in on a sleeping loved one, only to witness their dreams being sucked from their head by a wild floating pink balloon is a fright-inducing practice.

2 Meowstic

Pokemon Forgotten Need Love Anime Psychic Type MEowstci

In an earlier entry, the idea of Pokemon with different sexes having different designs and stats was brought up. In that capacity, few other Pokemon have as much of a drastic difference in pure design as that of the Psychic-type Contraint Pokemon, Meowstic. This navy blue and white feline appeared first in the sixth generation of Pokemon.

It is the final form of Espurr, with the males being blue with white accents and the females being white with blue accents. Cat and dog-inspired Pokemon tend to be fan favorites as those animals are so beloved in real life, but for some reason, Meowstic got lost in the fold. This is likely due to the Pokemon fandom generally looking down on the sixth generation of Pokemon games as a low point in the series.

1 Claydol

Pokemon Forgotten Need Love Anime Psychic Type Claydol

It's understandable why some Pokemon fans may be upset by Claydol's design, but the dual-type draws power from both the Ground and Psychic-types and does so with a fascinating appearance. Once a Baltoy is trained and leveled up to level 36 it will evolve into its bulbous mud doll counterpart.

With the evolutionary line assumed to be human-made mud dolls that gained sentience, it makes sense why they would have Psychic-typing. Claydol's shiny form design replaces the pink coloring of its eyes for a yellowish-brown that much more closely matches the color of its accent parts on its design.
