The Pokemon franchise is one of the most popular and recognizable IPs in the gaming world. With popularity remaining consistent even past Pokemon's 25th anniversary, fans of the series have often created tributes either to their favorite game, Pokemon, or region. These tributes and pieces of fan art come in all shapes, sizes, and designs, ranging from 3D renders of the 2D areas of the earlier games, to recreations of the iconic Pallet Town in Far Cry 5.

With the record-breaking release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus as well, Pokemon fans have had a whole new time period, map, and Hisuian Pokemon to use as inspirations for their art. One fan even went so far as to create their own recreation of the wooden Poke Ball seen in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Another fan also used wood for their Pokemon-inspired creation, yet instead of focusing on Pokemon from the newest mainline game, they instead chose to focus on creatures from the oldest titles.

Posting their impressive creation to Reddit, user u/FrigginBoomT carved a wooden box inspired by the stained-glass design of the three legendary birds card from the Pokemon trading card game. Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos all make their appearance on the box, which manages to capture the design of the original card perfectly. The three legendary birds have been a fan-favorite trio of Pokemon since their introduction in the first generation Pokemon games, even making their way to Pokemon Sword and Shield in their Galarian forms.

Fans were quick to praise the design and effort put in to making the wooden box, with the creator going into further detail on the effort it took to create. "I like all my carvings to have weird ancient vibes," said the creator. "So I add faux damage and weathering and wash out all the color. I want them to look like some old relic you might find in a cave in one of the games. I also add real Pokemon spirits into the box to curse it."

The wooden box posted to Reddit is surprisingly not the first time Pokemon fan art has made use of stained-glass designs. Alongside the box inspired by the three legendary birds card, the significant other of another Reddit user created some incredible art of dragon-type Pokemon Flygon and fan favorite of the series Eevee. Alongside those pieces, for Halloween one fan created an amazing stained-glass piece of art inspired by Togepi.
