Pokemon fans have been making many interesting creations based on the popular series recently. From custom Poke Ball Joy-Con controllers to papercraft models of locations from the games, fans have a nearly unlimited supply of Pokemon to get creative with. Recently, one artist decided to take a different approach to fan art and make a picture of Pikachu out of a laser.

As one of the best-known Pokemon in the series, Pikachu has played numerous roles in the franchise over the years. First appearing in the games Pokemon Red and Green, the electric-type Pokemon has been in various anime from the series, along with starring in the movie Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. With this level of popularity, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it has been the focus of many pieces of fan art over the years as well. Despite this, some fans continue to discover new ways of recreating the character.

In a recent post on TikTok, one user known as brooke.cheng decided to create a picture of Pikachu. However, their approach was slightly unusual; they used a laser and mirrors. The video starts by showing the artists meticulously positioning many tiny mirrors on a wall so that a laser can reflect off them in the correct order to create an image. While only lasting a few seconds, the clip reveals the difficult work involved in the project.

After a brief montage of brooke.cheng placing the mirrors, the clip then shows the creator grab a hat and pair of gloves resembling those from the Pokemon trainer Ash. As the beat drops in the video, the dark wall behind the artist explodes with color, revealing a picture of Pikachu. Using red, yellow, and blue lasers, the image presents a vibrant design for the character complete with lightning bolts.

Since posting the video 2 days ago, the creator has gathered an impressive 11.2 million views for his Pikachu laser art. It is even more astounding considering this is only the second clip uploaded by the artist as well. The previous was another piece of art featuring Godzilla vs King Kong. Despite just getting started on the platform, brooke.cheng has amassed a huge following on TikTok with over 65,000 followers and 1.6 million likes.

Beyond this new Pickachu laser art, Pokemon fans have another reason to be excited, as the company recently collaborated with Oreo to create Pokemon x Oreo cookies. With over 16 different cookie designs, including one with Pikachu, fans of the series have a new way to catch them all. These limited edition cookies can be pre-ordered now for $5.19, and they become available on September 13.
