Pokemon fans showed appreciation towards a pair of custom-painted shoes inspired by the second generation of Pokemon. Even though these pair of games released over ten years ago, fans still hold these early titles close to their hearts. These Pokemon Gold and Silver renditions show that the entirety of the Pokemon franchise is still relevant, and is not only dependent on the newer releases. However, the earlier generations of Pokemon are definitely some of the dearests for fans.

Not only is there a huge amount of fanart, but there have also been plenty of Pokemon renditions in other games. For instance, a fan recreated the town of Johto from Pokemon Gold and Silver in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The amount of work that goes into customizing the objects in the game, goes to show that Pokemon fans are extremely dedicated. These shoes are also not the first time fans get to see these pocket monsters adapted to clothing as there has been several official collaborations between Pokemon and brands such as Zavvi.

This time, a Reddit user posted some pictures of a pair of white Nike Air Force shoes which were decorated with the legendary Pokemon of Pokemon Gold and Silver. One of the shoes features Ho-oh, the legendary Pokemon inspired in Fenghuang from Chinese mythology. The other shoe shows Lugia, one of the most famous legendary Pokemon which was also the main character in the film Pokemon The Movie 2000. Both of the shoes were decorated using special paint and were done completely by hand.

The outcome of the decorated shoes was posted in the Pokemon subreddit by genna903, as well as the author's Instagram page Charme Customs. In Reddit, the post has received over six thousand upvotes and plenty of comments praising such an original Pokemon creation. Some of the users even commented they would be interested in acquiring a pair of decorated shoes like those. On Instagram, on the other hand, the author showed off the work in two different posts which amassed around five hundred likes.

In addition to the Pokemon Gold and Silver shoes, the author has also decorated white pairs of Air Force with imagery from Naruto, Akira, and Avatar: The Last Airbender to name a few. Although the Ho-oh and Lugia pair are the only creations from the Pokemon franchise, they might not be the last for the author. Given the amount of positive attention the Pokemon Nike pair received, the author might end up designing more pairs inspired by other characters.
