While it's uncertain whether this Sylveon's nature is actually jolly, the Pokemon fan who received this gift is guaranteed to be full of Christmas cheer.
The Pokemon community is full of talented artists who have shared their brilliant displays of creativity through various forms, such as digital art, paintings, model displays, and now, a crochet, hand-knit Pokemon. With the latest installment to the franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan art is on the rise and has even blended other forms of media to create marvelous pieces, such as Minecraft and Ben 10.
Reddit user Xenus13 shared their Christmas gift to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit on Christmas Eve, quickly receiving over 1,000 upvotes and dozens of comments praising the original piece of art. Xenus13 claims that their mother-in-law took up to a month to finish the Sylveon crochet, indicating that there was intricate detail including wiring threaded through the body in order to hold up the ribbons. In terms of creating original art displays, Sylveon is a fan favorite among Pokemon creators, with several drawings, figurines, and molds being shared across various platforms. This one may top that list, as the amount of effort and attention to detail that went into it was appreciated by those who shared their thoughts on the crochet.
"That's amazing especially homemade makes it more special Merry Christmas! They must really like you. Because that looks like they tried really hard to make a nice gift!" writes one of the many users, pointing out that the gift coming from their in-law indicates a real appreciation for the person. Another user jokingly stated that The Pokemon Company couldn't re-stock their supply of Sylveon plushies, so she took to it herself and created the original piece by hand. Given the result of how beautiful the crochet turned out, it's a wonder if it will be a possibility for the mother-in-law to one day create an original art piece of every single Eeveelution to complete the collection.
Sylveon was introduced in the sixth generation, Pokemon X and Y, as the fairy-type evolution to the Eevee family. Its soft colors and flowing ribbons made it an instant favorite among the Pokemon community, and its heightened Special Attack and Special Defense stats made Sylveon a Pokemon that players loved using early on in competitive battles. Thanks to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's new Tera Type system, players can even catch Eevee with any Tera Type and evolve it to any of its possible evolutions to create a unique set-up with multiple different type variations.
