When kids start to enjoy something like gaming, anime, or other hobbies, the same can't always be said of the parents. Many people have experienced having a parent disapprove of something, even if that fondness is for Pokemon.
Thankfully, not every kid has to go through this problem. On the contrary; some parents are extremely supportive of their kids' favorites, and in this case, two parents went above and beyond to craft a tastefully themed room for the Pokemon fan in their lives.
Redditor jworley365 shared the experience and the results with fellow Pokemon fans. In their post, they explained that the parents redid the child's room in order to help celebrate their fondness for Pokemon, but especially Umbreon and Espeon, two of Eevee's evolved forms. The result is charming and does an excellent job of highlighting some Umbreon and Eevee's designs without being over the top.
As one can see from the image, the room has been decorated and painted with pale purple and black triangles, emulating the color and pointy ears on the Eevee evolved forms. The black dresser beneath it further emphasizes Umbreon, and a Pokeball, Mewtwo Funko Pop, and even Pokemon bedsheets can also be seen in the photo, further bringing the theme home. Two framed images of Umbreon and Espeon are also up in the corner, polishing off the look.
The design manages to be a great nod to two popular Pokemon without being overbearing. Jworley365 pointed out that if their child ever outgrows Pokemon, they can take down the decorations specific to Pokemon and keep the color design without feeling embarrassed by it.
The comments on the post have been outstandingly in favor of the design, and thoroughly praise both the parents and the child. Several viewers leaving comments expressed interest in creating similar designs in their own rooms, admitting simultaneously that they're much older than jworley365's 9-year-old daughter. Others joked about wanting to be adopted into the family so that they could enjoy the cool room, too. Others suggested that jworley365 introduce their daughter to Pokemon Colosseum, as Umbreon and Espeon are the player's starters in the game.
Pokemon has crossed multiple generations, and as the crowd who grew up with it for the first time has children of their own, many of those kids are picking up the same fondness for the franchise. Players will likely always debate over their favorite games, anime seasons, and creatures, but the series continues to bring fans together, old and young alike.
