Legendary Pokemon have some of the most gorgeous, intimidating, and all-around memorable designs in the entire Pokemon franchise, and Primal Reversion Kyogre and Groudon of the Hoenn region stand head and shoulders above their peers. One Pokemon fan, u/Reechan, is so fond of these primal titans that they decided to create an interpretation of what fellow Gen III Legendaries Mega Latias and Latios would look like if fused with Kyogre and Groudon.

The franchise has seen a huge number of fan-made Pokefusions over the years, but this version of Primal Mega Latias and Latios is definitely one of the most interesting. Drawing inspiration from Primal Groudon, Primal Mega Latias is depicted standing on its hind limbs, a first for the Dragon/Psychic-type Pokemon, using a thick, scaly tail to help it balance. Its arms have transformed into enormous claws, and most of its body is covered in hard red armor plates with a black underside and molten gold filling in the cracks.

Primal Mega Latios takes after Primal Kyogre and is shown in a streamlined swimming pose, its wings fused into a single dorsal fin and its hind limbs flattened into ribbon-like flukes. It resembles a sea turtle more than a whale, but its deep blue color, translucent sections, and circular gold markings make its connection to the titan of the sea clear. Both new fusions have huge glowing circles on their arms that appear to be giving off bursts of powerful energy--fire for Primal Latias and something reminiscent of jet fuel for Primal Latios.

Groudon is a dual Ground/Fire-type but Kyogre is only Water-type, which raises the question of what types these fusions would be. They could inherit Latias and Latios' Dragon-types and then add in the primary elements of Groudon and Kyogre. Or perhaps titans like these simply incorporate as many types as they felt like. One likely possibility would be Primal Latias as Fire/Dragon and Primal Latios as Water/Dragon, which would suit the sleek and elemental designs.

The four Pokemon combined here are right next to each other in the Pokedex: Latias is #380, Latios is #381, Kyogre is #382, and Groudon is #383. Pokemon number 384, Rayquaza, is not depicted fused with the Eon Duo, possibly because Latias and Latios are already Dragon/Psychic-type so fusing them with a Dragon/Flying-type would be less striking--or because Rayquaza is the only member of the Super-ancient Pokemon trio that can't undergo Primal Reversion. Another gorgeous fusion gamers may be interested in is this Torterra/Beedrill fusion which also originated on Reddit. Realistic Pokemon designs are almost as popular as Pokefusions, so fans might also fall in love with this take on a realistic Charizard.

U/Reechan's art does a great job at bringing creatures that never were to life. Just as many official Pokemon have stood the test of time and gone down in design history, fans will have a hard time getting these Primal Mega designs out of their heads any time soon. Especially with the Galar region showcasing some of the Pokemon franchise's most suspiciously familiar designs yet.
