Many artistic Pokemon fans have been taking inspiration from the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games ever since they were revealed to make their own designs. However, rather than taking inspiration from the upcoming Gen 9 games, one fan has taken the designs of Gen 1's Bulbasaur and Gengar to create their own Pokemon that shares similarities to the two.

Both Bulbasaur and Gengar have had a huge impact on the Pokemon franchise, being two of the original pocket monsters that were introduced in 1996 with the releases of Pokemon Red and Blue. Bulbasaur is the Grass-type starter that players could choose to accompany them on their journey, with Charmander and Squirtle being the other choices. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur, followed by Venusaur, and has become one of the most iconic starter Pokemon of all time. Gengar, on the other hand, is a Ghost Type Pokemon that is the final evolution of Gastly and Haunter. Gengar can be found in many video games throughout the franchise, being one of the Pokemon that players have been able to capture and battle against the most.

A Reddit user, Imkitoto, combined the designs of these two classic pocket monsters, making a Ghost-type Pokemon that shares a lot of similarities to the Grass-type starter. However, rather than being green, this design is mostly purple and fog replaces Bulbasaur's bulb. In the background of the picture, there are faded copies of this fan-made design, which Imkitoto calls "Gengasaur."

Other Pokemon fans told Imkitoto how much they like Gengasaur and complimented the artwork. Another Reddit user, EndeavouringCat, asked Imkitoto to make other designs based on already existing Pokemon. Imkitoto replied by saying that they have already made other Pokemon-inspired artwork and may upload a new one soon. One of the ones they had already made, a crossover between Charizard and Ampharos called "Charmpharos," was also uploaded today. Along with combining designs of beloved Pokemon, Imkitoto also makes fan art mixing franchises together, such as Hunter x Hunter, Among Us, Spy x Family, Demon Slayer, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

In other Pokemon news, a Pokemon Presents was announced earlier today, which will be streamed on August 3 and reveals more about the upcoming video games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Fans have been anticipating the releases of these two games, especially after how much Pokemon Legends: Arceus was praised earlier this year. While fans wait for the upcoming installments of the franchise to come out, they can enjoy the wonderful creations that artists like Imkitoto upload online.
