In Pokemon GO there are a few special items that players can find that are required for the evolutions of certain species of Pokemon. One of these items is the Dragon Scale, which is a rare item that is required to evolve Seadra into Kingdra.
Kingdra is a dual water and dragon-type Pokemon that requires both 100 Horsea candies and a Dragon Scale to evolve from Seadra in Pokemon GO. It is capable of learning powerful moves such as Hydro Pump and Outrage and is only weak to dragon and fairy-type moves.
While the grind for getting 100 Horsea candies can take a long time, getting a Dragon Scale might take even longer if players don't know what to do. Luckily, now is one of the best times to get one without much trouble.
Normally, players can get Dragon Scales from spinning Pokestops or Gyms. However, the chances of getting one is around 1% per spin with it being the same percentage of other evolution item drops. The only way to raise the odds is after players spin over 250 Pokestops.
Another way to get it from Pokestops is if players spin a Pokestop 7 days in a row and collect their streak bonus. However, this is not a guaranteed way to get a Dragon Scale, as other evolution items like the King's Rock also will have a chance to appear as well. These other evolution items are:
- King's Rock
- Metal Coat
- Sun Stone
- Upgrade
- Sinnoh Stone
- Unova Stone
However, Pokemon GO is currently running the Dragon Week event, which offers players rewards for completing special event tasks. By completing these tasks, players will eventually get the task to defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts. Completing this task will give players a guaranteed Dragon Scale. However, players only have until the end of the event on August 7th to complete this task and claim their rewards.
Once a player receives a Dragon Scale, it can only be used to evolve Seadra. No other Pokemon can evolve with it or need it to evolve.
After evolving Seadra into Kingdra, the moveset with the most DPS has Water Gun as Kingdra's Fast Move and Hydro Pump as Kingdra's Charge Move. It gets special weather boosted effects during rainy and windy weather.
