Earlier this year, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were revealed, and some fans were very disappointed by the first look at the fourth generation remakes due to the chibi graphics. In the aftermath of the reveal, one fan shared a glimpse at a more realistic Pokemon game, and now that same fan has released a full concept trailer.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be the fourth set of Pokemon remakes, which generally involves Game Freak revisiting a past main series game and updating them with the gameplay and graphics of the contemporary games. However, these new remakes look nothing like Pokemon Sword and Shield, and that is one reason why some fans were disappointed and why this concept trailer is exciting.

The video comes from YouTuber Millenniumloops and is technically a trailer for their concept of a Gen 4 remake, rather than a new take on Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The trailer, which can be watched in full below, begins with a few environmental shots before the protagonists are revealed. The following few scenes show the protagonists, Lucas and Dawn, surfing, flying, diving, and rock climbing all around the Sinnoh region. Next, the trailer focuses on customizing Pokeballs with stickers and stamps, a feature introduced in the original versions of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, but it doesn't stop there, as Pokemon are revealed to wear different clothing items.

The mood of the trailer then changes as the Elite Four and Champion rooms are displayed, and a battle between Dawn's Empoleon and Flint's Infernape begins.  The combat in the trailer looks very different from normal battles in the Pokemon series as both Pokemon run around the arena, firing moves. Then Flint reveals his Mega Stone and Infernap Mega Evolves, and Dawn's Emploeon does the same, which is exciting, as Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl may see Mega Evolutions return if rumors are to be believed. The end of the trailer reveals Shaymin, the Distortion World, and Darkrai.

Unfortunately, the trailer goes to great lengths to make sure its viewers know that it is only a concept and will not be a real game. While the chibi graphics of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have their own charm, this trailer does make a Generation Four remake in Pokemon Sword and Shield's style an exciting prospect. Some fans will be watching this trailer right up to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release, while others will hope the real remakes live up to the hype.
