Throughout the Pokemon series, players are brought to different regions with different species of Pokemon to catch. In the latest games in the series, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players are brought back to the Sinnoh region from the original Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. In a recent tribute to this region, one Pokemon fan brought to life one of the more important cities for Pokemon lore, Snowpoint City, but through the art of papercraft.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl released in North America in 2007 and were chosen to be remade as part of the 25th-anniversary celebration for the franchise. Using paper or cards to create 2D or 3D structures, the artist here has added Snowpoint City to their impressive list of creations from the Sinnoh region through papercraft.

Though not as crowded with buildings as some of u/pokecreation's other creations, Snowpoint City is still an impressive site in papercraft. In the post, viewers will see Snowpoint City’s snow-covered trees and memorable Snowpoint Temple. On top of this, u/pokecreation made sure to include Candice's Ice-centered Pokemon Gym and the city's active port district. As with this creator’s other projects, they made sure to include all of the NPCs that dot the city landscape in the games as well. There are a number of images from different angles in the original post by u/pokecreation and these do a good job of showing off the creation's details.

Great papercraft creations require a combination of impressive templates and great measurement and, fortunately, this piece has both. This shouldn't be a surprise for those who have seen this content creator's Jubilife City from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Just as in that creation, this version of Snowpoint City has exact replica templates for each one of the buildings and characters. For those interested in creating something similar, u/pokecreation mentions that those designs are available on their post.

Just as this creation changes how viewers look at Snowpoint City, so too does Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl alter how players see the Sinnoh region. These remakes have diverted from the original games' 2D world and remodeled the structures and characters in the overworld in 3D. This new change has brought a fresh perspective to a vintage region.

Then again, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl keeps its top-down viewing angle and doesn't match recent games such as Pokemon Sword and Shield, leaving some players wanting more. There was an opportunity here to completely transfer the Sinnoh region into 3D and that will likely not come again any time soon. Either way, however, fans of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have this creation to enjoy.
