Gamers have been customizing their consoles for years. This includes custom faceplates for the PS5 and paint jobs on consoles. One gamer decided to make their own custom console out of a Nintendo DS and then added a Pokemon spin to it.

Game Boy Macros are Nintendo DS handhelds that have been modified into Game Boy Advances. This is done by removing the top half of the handheld, leaving the bottom screen and the buttons. This is often done with damaged Nintendo DS systems in which the top half has been broken in some way. Since the top half of a Nintendo DS is very prone to damage, it is often times a burden to repair them. Game Boy Macros are often customized after being transformed, creating unique handhelds with a lot of character.

A gamer going by the handle Ds_macro_skull has made a Game Boy Macro and the added a fan favorite Pokemon to the front of it. The modder added a decal of the Pokemon Gengar to their machine, creating a unique Game Boy Advance that any Pokemon fan would love.

Ds_macro_skull added a clear faceplate to the Game Boy Macro, which included clear face buttons. They then added a Gengar decal that takes up much of the handheld's front plate, with the decal featuring the wide and threatening smile that the pocket monster is famous for. According to Ds_macro_skull the decal was custom-made for the Game Boy Macro. It is a great fan project that resulted in a nice looking handheld that is a great tribute to Pokemon.

Ds_macro_skull's Game Boy Macro is receiving a lot of love. Some who commented are Gengar fans who give the handheld their approval, with some coming up with nicknames for it such as the Gamegar and Gengboy. However, the system does have one commenter asking "Why?" Another states that they tried creating their own Game Boy Macro, which they got working despite struggling with cleaning the top ridge.

Ds_macro_skull is not the only one giving consoles a Pokemon makeover. A Redditor who goes by the handle The-Waifu-Collector customized their PS5 with Pokemon artwork. One side of the console features Jessie of Team Rocket from the Pokemon anime. The other features Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, along with two Persians, one regular and the other Alolan. The side with Giovanni also features Mewtwo in the background, as well as the Team Rocket insignia. James and Meowth, who typically accompany Jessie in the anime, are noticeably missing from the console. Either way, the PS5 looks beautiful, and is a great piece of Pokemon art.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release in 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
