Pokemon are lovable, fictional creatures with unique appearances and elemental types. While many Pokemon are caught and upgraded to have them succeed in competitive battle scenarios, fans adore the symbiotic relationship formed with Pokemon as they evolve and grow as companions together.

One fan's unique animation is not for the faint of heart, nor is it going to please vegetarians, vegans, or squeamish Pokemon fans. The fan's animation style is cartoonish, fitting Pokemon's lasting aesthetic appropriately, while they depict what meals may be produced from three starter "plant," water, and fire Pokemon.

In a mesmerizing animation video, brainqueen gruesomely reinterprets Pokemon's starter selection as a consumer product purchase in the "Veridian City Wet Market." In this case, the player is not selecting which starter Pokemon they would like to accompany and level up on their journey. Rather, the player is selecting which starter Pokemon they would like to consume. A single bird's-eye-view camera angle shows an unidentified chef, who fans may briefly see bearing a Gyarados tattoo, preparing sumptuous meals from the corpses of Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander.

Bulbasaur's green plant bulb is twisted and torn off by hand, which the chef prepares a bed of white rice in. Bulbasaur's body is left intact, though beheaded, and is served alongside the enormous rice bulb as a distinctively blue rotisserie meat. Meanwhile, Squirtle is completely dismembered, beheaded, and docked. Squirtle's shell is bisected with a mallet and used as a rustic bowl with which a colorful soup is served from Squirtle's body and appendages. Other ingredients included in the Squirtle soup are incomprehensible besides certain vegetables and herb garnishes.

Interestingly, the least graphic preparation is of Charmander, whose entire body is disposed of and wasted, while the chef only cuts off and utilizes the Pokemon's tail. The animation cuts to a commercial bottle of dark tail oil that is labeled as a spicy "'fire in your pants' aphrodisiac". Haze Acid describes brainqueen's animation as "disturbing and amazing at the same time", which is a fair classification since the animator creatively assumes what each Pokemon's anatomical break down would look like as the chef takes a cleaver to them.

These exquisite dishes look legitimately delicious, if only fans can look past the macabre nature of their preparation. Pokemon fans hope to see to more dishes being added to brainqueen's "Pokémenu" in the future. This animator must not be the only individual Pokemon fan that has ever considered what a Pokemon may taste like, and simply depicts Pokemon as if they were any other animal that humans commonly raise and butcher for food consumption. Indeed, it is truly interesting to see what artistic culinary practices could be produced from creatures from Pokemon.
