Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are merely weeks away from releasing on the Nintendo Switch, introducing lots of new Pokemon fans to the Sinnoh region for the first time. While veterans of the series might already know what to expect from the pair of upcoming Pokemon remakes, there are still many folks who are going in blind.

To hype up the upcoming launch of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, The Pokemon Company has released a new overview trailer that not only shows off some of the members of Team Galactic, the villainous organization of the Sinnoh region, but also introduces several of the Gym Leaders that players will battle against.

The latest trailer for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl opens with the introduction of the Ice-type Leader of the Snowpoint City gym in Sinnoh, Candice. It shows a gym filled with large snowballs that players will need to slide into to destroy to make their way around Candice's gym. The battle with her shows off one of her Pokemon, Abomasnow. Next, Volker appears, and he's the leader of the Sunyshore City gym that uses Electric-type Pokemon like Luxray.

As for the back half of the new trailer, it goes into the mysterious Team Galactic, which is the evil team that players will have to battle against several times throughout the story of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. There will be many Galatic Grunts to take down, as well as the main commanders: Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. These opponents will have stronger Pokemon than the average Galactic Grunt and will appear at critical points in the narrative. Eventually, trainers will have to face off against Cyrus himself, who happens to be the Team Galactic Boss.

The three Legendary Pokemon that sleep underneath Sinnoh's lakes were also shown off. These Pokemon are Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie and act as the guardians of Lake Acuity, Lake Verity, and Lake Valor. Trainers will have the opportunity to encounter and capture all three of these Psychic-type Pokemon to add them to their team.

While these remakes of Diamond and Pearl seem to be mostly unchanged from the original, some new quality of life features are coming that some fans are having issues with, particularly when it comes to how EXP Share is being handled. In previous titles, the feature was an option that could be disabled, but in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it seems that the feature will be permanent and cannot be changed. This makes it so that all Pokemon in the party will gain battle experience, no matter if they were part of the battle or not.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl release for the Nintendo Switch on November 19th, 2021.
