As the release of Pokemon Briliant Diamond and Shining Pearl grows closer, more rumors, speculation, and leaks have surfaced online about what changes will be made to the original Gen 4 DS titles. While many of those rumors tend to be on the more mundane side, one leaker seems to suggest that the remakes will be introducing a new way for players to catch highly rare shiny Pokemon.

A Pokemon leaker that goes by the name of "Chinese Riddler" or @Riddler_Khu on Twitter posted a cryptic tweet of a picture of the revamped Pal Park from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's map. The simple caption reads "Here is good place for new-coming fans," which caused plenty of speculation online as, in the original DS titles, the Pal Park was a late-game area only available for players who had unlocked the National PokeDex. Chinese Riddler, who has proven to be a credible leaker in the past, followed up with two tweets the following day depicting an Alolan Vulpix and a shiny Ponyta with little context or caption.

This has caused many Pokemon fans to think that the Pal Park in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be more than just a place for players to capture Pokemon from other regions like it was in the original games, but a place where the spawn rate of shiny's is drastically higher based on the photo of the shiny Ponyta. Speculators also think that the Alolan Vulpix implies that new regional versions of Pokemon that weren't included in the original Diamond and Pearl will be featured in the area as well.

As this isn't an official announcement, it's important to take the information with a big grain of salt. Chinese Riddler hasn't even said anything connecting the three images together, but fans seem to think that they're implying a connection instead of saying it outright. At the very least, the implications seem to be that, on some level, the Pal Park will be altered in some way and that Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will include regional Pokemon variants and potentially have a new system for encountering shiny Pokemon.

If it's true that the Pal Park makes it easier to find them, then the shiny Pokemon trading market might be thrown off balance somewhat. Up until this point, finding shiny Pokemon is a tedious process as their spawn rates are so low, however, if the process can be sped up, then their value might drop as a result. It's still to be seen if any chances are actually coming to the new games, but if they are, they'll likely have major implications for the rest of the Pokemon community.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launch on November 19 for the Nintendo Switch.
