In the original gen 1 Pokemon games, players were able to buy most of their Evolution Stones from the department store in Celadon City. Since gen 2, however, Evolution Stones can typically only be found by exploring the games' worlds, making it quite a bit more difficult to evolve certain Pokemon. Thankfully though, due to the inclusion of the Grand Underground, this isn't too much of an issue in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Unlike other recent Pokemon games in which the number of Evolution Stones is limited, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl players are, for the most part, able to farm as many of these magical stones as they need. This is true of most types of Evolution Stone anyway, including Water Stones, which are needed to evolve five different water-type Pokemon in the gen 4 remakes.

There are a few different places where players can get their hands on a Water Stone in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the first of which is Route 213. Players will find one in the shallow water on the far east side of the route, just north of two swimmers. For those who need more, there's another one hidden in one of the caverns inside the Solaceon Ruins and one more on the island in the middle of Route 230.

Rather than looking for Water Stones out in the field though, many players will instead opt to dig for them down in the Grand Underground. Granted, they're not quite as common as Thunder and Fire Stones are, but players should still dig up a somewhat sizeable stash while searching for the Mysterious Shards needed to unlock everything at the post-game area, Ramanas Park.
