Perhaps more so than in any other generation, grass-type Pokemon are incredibly useful in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. They have type advantage in many of the games' biggest battles, including the one with Roark at Sinnoh's very first gym. It's for this reason that a lot of players opt to choose Turtwig as their starter Pokemon, though for those who'd rather pick Chimchar or Piplup, there are thankfully plenty of other great grass-types in the games.

Though most of the series' grass-type Pokemon evolve by leveling up, there are a handful that instead require the use of a special Evolution Stone. The Leaf Stone can be used to evolve four different Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, three of which have been part of the franchise since the days of Red & Blue. Considering a couple of them are amongst the best grass-types in the gen 4 remakes, players will probably want to find themselves a Leaf Stone or two as soon as possible.

There are a few different spots where players can find a Leaf Stone in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the first being the Floaroma Meadow. Players will need to enter the meadow via the secret northern entrance to find the stone, however, which can be accessed by surfing west along the stream in the southern part of Route 205. Players can also find a Leaf Stone hidden in the grass near the house on Route 225 and another one in the mud near the center of the Great Marsh.

As with other Evolution Stones, players will also be able to dig for Leaf Stones in the Grand Underground. They're a lot less common than Fire and Thunder Stones, but still show up fairly regularly. Those hoping to dig up 42 Mysterious Shards to encounter all of the Legendary Pokemon at Ramanas Park will no doubt find more than they could ever possibly need and so will probably end up selling their spares at some point to make some extra cash.
