The Dusk Stone was one of three types of Evolution Stone to make its debut in the gen 4 Pokemon games and returns as one of the nine available types found in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Unlike most of the others, players won't be able to dig for Dusk Stones down in the Grand Underground, though there are thankfully a few other methods for getting one's hands on these rare stones.
It's perhaps understandable why Dusk Stones aren't a bit more common in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, as there are only two Pokemon that are able to use them in the games. What's more, both of these are version-specific Pokemon, meaning most players will only actually need to find one Dusk Stone during a standard playthrough.
Where to Find a Dusk Stone in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Players will be able to find two Dusk Stones as they make their way through the games' main story. The first is behind the locked door in the Galactic Warehouse, which players will be able to get to once they've beaten Candice in Snowpoint City and investigated the three lakes. There's another in the secret area of Victory Road, though players won't be able to get to this one until after they've unlocked the National Dex.
Since its introduction in Ruby & Sapphire, the Pickup ability has provided players with a great way to get their hands on rare items. As well as being able to steal their opponents' held items, Pokemon with the Pickup ability also have a 10% chance of finding a rare item after battle. Once it reaches level 91, there's a 10% chance that this item will be a Dusk Stone. This effective 1% chance may not seem like much on paper, but given how thick and fast the battles come in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it can quickly pay dividends.
Pokemon That Evolve Using a Dusk Stone in Brilliant Diamond Diamond & Shining Pearl
- Murkrow -> Honchkrow
- Misdreavus -> Mismagius
There are only two Pokemon that evolve using a Dusk Stone in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, though players will only have access to one of them due to the pair being version-specific. Brilliant Diamond players will be able to find Murkrow in Eterna Forest and the Lost Tower, as well as in the Grand Underground. Misdreavus can be found in the same three locations, but only by those who are playing Shining Pearl.
