Hitting Nintendo Switch later this year, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will see both classic Pokemon games return with new visuals and overhauled systems, with players able to adventure through a more contemporary take on the Sinnoh region. It seems Nintendo is keen to show off exactly what players can expect when they get their hands on the remakes, with the studio taking to YouTube today to reveal a new trailer for the upcoming titles.

Popping up on the official Pokemon channel, the new look at the game offers a comprehensive overview of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's main features and the world of Sinnoh. Along the way, players get to see some intense Pokemon battles, a first look at Amity Square, and an introduction to some of the game's supporting cast.

The clip kicks off with the return of the Poketch, with the wrist-based device once again offering an array of important services that will enhance how players interact with Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's world. It'll allow players to track the time, find hidden items using a built-in dowsing rod, and check how friendly a trainer is with their Pokemon.

They'll also be able to use it to access HM's to move past obstacles or fast-travel, although the official Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl website appears to hint there will be a significant change to the system. According to the site, the Poketch will "call on wild Pokemon to help" when players access their HMs, hinting that trainers may not need to fill their Pokemon's move slots with HMs like in prior games.

The trailer then highlights the ability to make poffins, which will seemingly play out much like the original, with players mixing a batter, cooking it, and then feeding the baked treats to their Pokemon to enhance their stats. Players can even look forward to making poffins alongside their pocket monsters when they visit the reimagined Amity Square, which will offer several activities for trainers to enjoy with their team.

Finally, the trailer dives into some of the returning faces trainers will encounter throughout their journey, including Cheryl, who players first rain into in Eterna Forest in the original game. It also highlights Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's versions of Riley and Eterna City Gym Leader Gardenia, with the footage showing a brief glimpse of the player's battle against the latter. It wasn't the only Pokemon trailer to debut today, with Nintendo also offering a brand new look at Pokemon Legends: Arceus, highlighting tons of fresh features coming to the innovative new take on the long-running series.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are slated to launch on November 19 for Nintendo Switch.
