Misdreavus is a Ghost-type Pokemon introduced in the second generation of the mainline series, Pokemon Gold and Silver. This Pokemon initially didn't have any evolutions, but in Diamond and Pearl, Mismagius was introduced. Before players read this guide to find Misdreavus in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, they should know that Misdreavus is not available to catch in Brilliant Diamond, as this Pokemon is a version exclusive for Shining Pearl. The only way for Diamond players to get it is through online trading with a player with the opposite version.

Where to Find Misdreavus

There are three different locations where Pokemon Shining Pearl players can catch a Misdreavus, and here's where they are:

  • Eterna Forest (At nighttime)
  • The Lost Tower (At nighttime) - Found to the south of Solaceon Town
  • The Grand Underground (Dazzling Cave, Stargleam Cavern) - Use the Explorer's Kit

How to Evolve Misdreavus into Mismagius

Pokemon Mismagius

When players first add Misdreavus to their battle party, they might wonder at what level the Ghost-type will evolve into Mismagius. Well, the thing is, there's only one way to evolve Misdreavus, and leveling it up won't do it. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players will need to get a Dusk Stone first and then use it on a Misdreavus to evolve it.

Where to Find a Dusk Stone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Trainers can find a Dusk Stone while exploring Victory Road before confronting the Elite Four and the Champion Cynthia. Another Dusk Stone can also be found inside of the Galactic Warehouse in Veilstone City. And the last place where the evolutionary stone can be found is inside the Grand Underground.

The Dusk Stone can only be used once before it gets automatically discarded. Besides evolving Misdreavus, players can also use it to evolve Murkow into Honchkrow, Lampent into Chandelure, and Doublade into Aegislash.
