After years of fans asking for Generation 4 remakes, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company delivered Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which have been out for three weeks now. The games were conceived as faithful remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, which means that Pokemon Platinum was entirely left out of the equation if not for a few tiny bits and the extended Pokedex that came with it, which is even larger now. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl didn't add anything too crazy, but they did a great job overhauling existing features such as the Grand Underground and Contests.

Another thing that had many fans excited was Ball Capsule customization, which now lets players apply stickers on the surface of a Poke Ball to customize the way it appears in the remakes' 3D Pokemon battles. Customization in Pokemon games has changed over the years, and newer Generations and remakes are way more in line with modern games, which often allow players to customize their characters to a degree. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl do it as well, and it features several hairstyles and outfits for players to choose from.

Still, a Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl fan shared a post on Reddit under the name of beedrill330, showing how the Ball Capsule process could be improved if it came with Poke Ball customization too. Because Poke Balls have very distinct appearances when compared with one another, allowing players to modify them in terms of colors, patterns, and effects would be a very rewarding thing to do in any Pokemon game.

The player's example focuses on Fast Balls, which are particularly useful to catch Pokemon that are quick to flee from in-game battles. While Fast Balls are not directly present in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, they are a great benchmark in terms of customization because they have a very striking design that mixes red, yellow, and white with circles and a lightning bolt. The fan shows how in-game menus could look like, allowing players to select their preferred shades and also which patterns to use for the Poke Ball's main areas.

Speaking of Poke Balls, Pokemon Legends: Arceus revealed Hisuian Voltorb as one of its Pokemon, with the critter being Electric/Grass due to its sparky nature and the fact that Hisuian Poke Balls are made of wood. As for Poke Ball customization, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is unlikely to feature it to any degree, even though players will have to craft their own Poke Balls.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available now on Nintendo Switch.
