We learned quite a lot from yesterday's late night Nintendo Direct presentation. Not only was the curtain pulled off of the brand new Nintendo 3DS XL, but gamers were also informed that Namco Bandai is helping with the development of the new Super Smash Bros. titles. There were tons of additional announcements and trailers released during the pre-recorded event, and the North American teaser trailer for Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 was one of them.

The new trailer doesn't reveal anything that isn't already known about the pair of sequels by hardcore Pokemon fans, but it's nice to finally see a few snippets of the games' dialogue in English. It also means that the localization process is well under way for Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, suggesting that both games should be on track for an early Fall 2012 release.

Highlights of the video include a look at the revamped Unova region (half of which has been frozen solid) in all of its glory, the ability to catch Pokemon from different areas right from the get-go, and the new gym leader Roxie. Each of these focal points in the teaser assure fans that this isn't just Pokemon Gray divided into two separate titles and then rebranded as sequels.

The successors to Pokemon Black and White are releasing in Japan tomorrow, much to the delight of the country's residents and importers. Trainers that don't reside Japan however, will be stuck waiting a few more months while the localization process raps up. With the release of Black 2 and White 2 only a handful of hours away, more news on both games should be arriving in almost no time at all. In the meantime, the teaser trailer should make do for the time being, while fans quietly await the arrival of the much anticipated monster catching extravaganza overseas.

Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 can be caught in North America this Fall on Nintendo DS.
