Those who were eagerly anticipating some sort of big Pokemon announcement this past weekend were undoubtedly disappointed after the news turned out to be a Japan-only contest for Pokemon Smash viewers. Fortunately, it seems all was not lost during the big show, as it’s since been confirmed that a ton of new information on the previously announced Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 will be released during this upcoming weekend’s broadcast.
As Serebii reports, Pokemon Smash has confirmed plans to reveal “a lot” of information regarding Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 during the show’s April 8th episode. Specifics on just what kinds of details will be revealed are still slim, but since little to nothing is currently known about the games (aside from some awesome looking box art and the two new forms of the legendary Pokemon Kyurem), any news will likely be well received by Pokemon fans.
Hopefully the info turns out to be something a little more interesting than the lackluster, sigh-out-loud announcement from last weekend, and odds are it will at the very least provide us with something newsworthy. Since the Poke-centric Japanese show is teasing exclusive Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 news, it’s a good indication that this info will be a big deal. I wouldn’t expect any gameplay videos quite yet, but screenshots, character art, and maybe even a new locale in the Unova region seem like the most likely details to be revealed.
This Pocket Monster-related news could be anything though, so be sure to keep your eyes right here when the information is broadcasted from Japan on Sunday — which translates to Saturday afternoon at 2:30 PST over here. If it’s anything news worthy, which is basically confirmed, it’ll be up on Game Rant just as fast as I can type.
What info do you hope is revealed on next weekend’s episode of Pokemon Smash?
Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 are currently in development for the Nintendo DS.
The big reveal that appeared on this weekend’s episode was just an official unvieling of the previously released Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 box art. The art itself features Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, as to be expected, but they’re not simply just standing there nonchalantly like past cover stars — instead they’re each striking an action pose.
This news isn’t as exciting as fans were hoping for, but fotunately we’ll be getting the first look at gameplay footage for the upcoming games when Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda appears on Pokemon Smash next week.
