A recent fan design from the Pokemon community features what one fan believes a biblically accurate Golbat would look like in the world of Pokemon. Although fan-made designs for many of the little guys from the Pokemon series are plentiful online, a lot of them can be considered strange - and this particular design just takes things to another level entirely.

The design seems to be inspired by the popular meme referencing the depiction of angels in the Christian Bible, featuring an eldritch, otherworldly appearance with multiple eyes and wings. This Golbat concept is just one of the many crazy designs frequently presented by Pokemon fans, usually created simply from boredom or just to share a laugh with others in the fanbase.

The art was posted on Reddit by the user vinsear as the creator, featuring the drawing of Golbat as an eldritch entity with multiple wings and eyes, complete with two burning halos above its head. Aside from simply being a post made for amusement, the artist was apparently inspired to pursue this Pokemon concept as it seemed perfectly fitting for the Halloween season.

The Pokemon series generally isn't afraid to venture into territories referencing religious themes either, with a Pokemon known as Arceus canonically being the creator of all things in the Pokemon universe. Many players may recognize the name from the recent title Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but interestingly enough, there are many other story elements and Pokemon that refer to aspects of religious folklore in the real world.

With the Pokemon community beginning to settle into the Halloween spirit this October, there's certainly been no shortage of spooky art, memes, and even cooking recipes posted by fans across social media, including on the official Pokemon subreddit and beyond. This time of year is always a fun one for the gaming community especially, as it gives players the opportunity to dress up as some of their favorite characters and take part in a number of special Halloween events that typically take place for a large number of live-service games.

Pokemon fans certainly don't have to worry about missing out on the fun this season either, as players can go out and enjoy Halloween events in both Pokemon Masters and Pokemon GO this October. As if that wasn't enough, players won't have to wait long for the launch of the next mainline Pokemon games either, with Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet on course to release next month on November 18th.
