Another Big 'Pokemon' Announcement Coming This Weekend

Big Pokemon Announcement Coming

Anyone who regularly follows the Pokemon franchise can't possibly be disappointed with the number of announcements being made as of late. Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition has just released in Japan, Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 were revealed a little over a month ago, and now there is confirmation that another big announcement will be made on the next episode of the Japanese Poke-centric show Pokemon Smash this upcoming weekend.

According to the Pokemon fan site Serebii, a big announcement was teased during this past week's episode. The announcement itself is allegedly not related to any of the previous announcements, making this world-exclusive reveal something entirely new, and not simply more information on the upcoming Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2. What more could The Pokemon Company possibly have up its sleeves?

It may simply be that Nintendo is ready to reveal another Japanese-exclusive Pokemon game, which would be kind of a let down. If, however, there is really another brand new Pocket Monster title on the horizon, then odds are trainers will be able to catch it on the 3DS -- and that really would be big news. Hopefully, it'll be the pair of long-awaited remakes of the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games, but the timing of such an announcement does seem a little premature given that there is already a set of adventure games coming out later this Fall.

The episode should be airing on Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm PST our time, so expect us to keep you up to date on anything significant that's revealed. For now, I think it's safe to say that fans would be content with some gameplay footage of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, and 3DS owners will be happy with ANYTHING for their system. In the meantime, speculators gonna speculate.
