Pokemon fans have been intrigued by the design of Allister, the Ghost-type gym leader in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Labeled as the silent boy of mystery, Allister is a presence that fans have been trying to understand in the Pokemon world. From the most important part of his look, his mask, players have tried to understand its use and attempt to understand the boy behind the mask.

Recently, Reddit user Aekis pointed out that Allister’s mask could potentially be the forehead of the newly introduced Galarian Corsola. Corsola is a coral-based Pokemon that was originally introduced in Generation III and recently received some regional love in Pokemon Sword and Shield, giving it a new ghost typing and new evolution.

According to his trainer card, Allister keeps a hundred masks with similar designs at all times just to make sure he will hide his identity in case his mask falls off. Allister himself also claims that he could see deceased Ghost-type Pokemon after an accident at the age of four. This raises the question to fans of the series in which what happened to Allister in that accident and why it allegedly allows him to see these ghost Pokemon.

Just thinking about having an adorable Corsola on his face is an interesting concept for Allister’s character if officially confirmed by Game Freak. Many other questions can be answered by Game Freak as well such as the further background to Allister's reason for the fear of removing his mask and the accident that caused him to see deceased Pokemon. For now, the mystery of Allister and his mask remain as a simple theory.

Allister is a pretty interesting and mysterious character that could be fleshed out more along with most other characters in the Pokemon universe. It is definitely great that Game Freak added league cards for players to know more about the new characters in the game and even added additional rare league cards so players can learn even more. Future Pokemon games could definitely learn to keep this feature and expand on the lore of the universe.

Overall, Allister will probably be more fleshed out in the new Pokemon anime that is based on the Galar region. It is quite exciting to see what the future has to offer for characters from future Pokemon titles and to see if more background history will be added.
