The Pokemon community has a long tradition of creating Pokefusions - creatures born from combining two or more existing Pokemon. Most of these Pokefusions are showcased as drawings or sprites, but one Pokemon fan has created a 3D model of a recent fusion, and made a short 3D animation to go with it.

This creature is a fusion of Wurmple and Arceus, the latter being a god-like creator of all Pokemon. Dubbed Wurmpeus by its original creator, Redditor GNK-770, the concept of one of the weakest bug Pokemon fusing with the Pokemon world's creator deity appears to have captured the imaginations of many. It inspired fellow Redditor MadeSoICanPostStuff to bring Wurmpeus into the third dimension.

The 3D animation begins with Wurmpeus standing on all fours at a three-quarter perspective, looking straight ahead. However, it soon rears up on its hind legs and begins waggling its forelegs. The new poses give viewers a better look at the creature's segmented, wormlike torso and spiny legs. While its position looks precarious, Wurmpeus remains balanced on its hind legs for a full second before coming down as suddenly as it reared up.

Wurmpeus' design incorporates both Arceus' quadrupedal deer-like frame and Wurmple's distinctly worm-like one, resulting in a tubed torso atop long, graceful legs. The Pokemon's body is bright pink with streaks of white on its chest and head, yellow horns on its head and hindquarters, and a lattice-like network of golden spines curving over its back. Wurmple's tail has also been grafted to the back of the creature's head, replacing Arceus' long head spike and giving its profile a very distinctive shape. This design would make a worthy addition to any fan's list of incredible Pokefusions.

According to MadeSoICanPostStuff, the model was created in Blender with Arceus and Wurmple models created by "Random Talking Bush" and "Mystie." These models were also fan-created, like a recently shared pair of custom shoes modeled after Pokemon Gold and Silver.

Wurmpeus may not appear in any official media, like the Pokemon TCG 25th Anniversary set, but its 3D model has been warmly received by fans on Reddit. Many posters complimented MadeSoICanPostStuff's work, with some even requesting the model be exported to STL format so that more fans can play with it. Other posters have argued in the comments over whether this design is blessed or cursed. The original artist, GNK-770, thanked MadeSoICanPostStuff for their hard work and mentioned they did not expect a passion project like Wurmpeus to affect people. Judging by the level of interaction the animation has received, the funny and faintly disturbing Wurmpeus design has had quite an effect on the Pokemon fan community.
