We're creeping up on two years since the PlayStation VR was released, and it is finally getting a decent price reduction.

The device typically only sees sales near the holidays, but there were several promotions last month. The prices associated with these deals are now being carried over and made permanent starting March 29.

Starting tomorrow, the PlayStation VR and its bundles will be $100 cheaper, starting at $299 for the standalone headset. Moreover, offerings like the PlayStation VR DOOM Bundle will be $299.00, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Bundle will now be $349.00, down from $449.00.

Both bundles come with the PSVR headset, a copy of the game, a PlayStation Camera, and a PSVR Demo Disc, which is a substantial package to start off in VR. However, the Skyrim bundle comes out slightly ahead, since it also includes two PlayStation Move controllers. Australia and New Zealand will receive the new prices as well, starting on April 2nd.

Aside from the two titles included in the bundles, there are a few other PlayStation VR offers worth checking out should the price reduction prove appealing. The obvious first suggestion would be Resident Evil 7, which lets users experience one of the greatest gaming genres for VR: horror. Even those that have played the game before might be interested in trying Capcom's game again in VR, as the intimacy of a first-person perspective makes it all the more terrifying. Plus, the game is now chock-full of DLC, much of which helps set up the next game in the series.

For something much lighter in tone and that still makes excellent use of the VR device, there is also Final Fantasy 15: Monster of the Deep. It's basically a fleshed out version of the mini-game found in the main title, but with plenty of enjoyable extras, such as boss fights with some of the beasties caught along the way. Players also get the opportunity to hang out with Noctis and the gang around the campfire, which if we're being honest, most of us have always wanted to do.
