Sony is currently celebrating three years of PlayStation VR, and as a treat to its playerbase, the company is offering massive discounts on select PSVR and PS4 games on the PlayStation Store. The sale is available now until Tuesday, October 22 at 8 AM PT.

PlayStation VR's anniversary sale offers a wide variety of PSVR and PSVR-supported PS4 games at a discount. Headlining the sale is Capcom's Resident Evil 7, which is currently available for $24.99, 50% off its original list price of $49.99. Players must remember that while the game supports the PSVR, it doesn't require Sony's VR headset to play. Soon after the game's release back in early 2018, Capcom revealed that Resident Evil 7 wasn't originally planned for VR, but the studio decided to add the feature mid-development due to its huge potential for the platform

Next on the list is Gearbox Software's VR port of Borderlands 2. The game is available now for $24.99, which is 50% off its list price of $49.99. Borderlands 2 was initially released back in 2012, but it was ported to the PSVR last December. Players interested in getting the game can check out this list of the 10 best Legendary Weapons in Borderlands 2 to get started. Although Borderlands 3 was recently released last September, the game is yet to support Sony's VR headset.

In other PlayStation news, Sony finally unveiled the release window of the PS5, which is set to hit shelves by Holiday 2020. Apart from the release window announcement, Sony's Jim Ryan talked about some features of the new controllers that will be shipping with the new console.

Of course, now that fans know for sure when the PS5 is releasing, the question becomes what it mean for the prices of the PS4 line of consoles. Currently, Amazon and Walmart are offering the best deals for the PS4 for those who are not early adopters and want a console that already has a massive library of games.
