PlayStation-exclusive titles have swept the industry with critically acclaimed franchises and iconic characters, and Sony's outreach has extended to many different collaborations with its platform-exclusive titles. But while many of these have included PlayStation character crossovers through other games, there is a new collaborative event that offers something for the appetite.

Games have previously inspired entire cookbooks and certain meals in games have looked remarkably appetizing due to graphical fidelity or their importance to a game's sequence. Sony Australia's latest initative demonstrates how iconic these individual moments and seemingly trivial dishes are in PlayStation-exclusive games with meals that create lasting memories.

It has been announced that Sony has initiated PlayStation To Plate to bring to life three meals inspired by The Last of Us 2, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. These dishes will each be available through the participating restaurants starting tomorrow on the food delivery app Deliveroo. Unfortunately for people in other countries, however, this initiative is indeed only based out of Australia's local culinary scene as a partnership with Sony's respective branch in Australia.

First is "Ellie's Steak Sandwich" from Mary's in Newtown, which reference the "bigot sandwiches" from the introduction to The Last of Us 2. The sandwich is referred to as such by fans and by Ellie herself in The Last of Us 2 because it is made for Ellie by another Jackson resident, Seth, who spoke derogatorily to her the night before. But the steak sandwiches themselves look delicious from Mary's and is even packaged similarly in light, form-fitting wrapping.

"Thief's Pasta" from Newtown's The Italian Bowl represents the simple-looking penne pasta dish that Nate grabs from the kitchen for Elena and him to eat on the sofa in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The Italian Bowl is apparently known for its family-friendly atmosphere, which perfectly matches the atmosphere of Uncharted 4's romantic mild-mannered dinner scene.

Lastly, Sony Australia presents "Sirangian Honey Mousse" from Bistro Morgan, which references Chef Tulio's Sirangian Honey from Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Bistro Morgan's Sirangian Honey Mousse needed to be much more clever with its presentation since it is adapted from the upside-down Snagglebeast honey mousse that players do not get to see, but Morgan Hipworth's creation is a fantastic result nonetheless.

If PlayStation To Plate were to make its way to other countries, it would be interesting to see what games-inspired dishes could be thought up and by which local restaurants. In the meantime, while players dive back into these PlayStation titles to experience the meals in-game and wonder what they would taste like, Australia's residents will soon be able to know for themselves.
