Gamers are often looking for a good deal or discount on video games. Whether it is a holiday slash, a Games with Gold deal, or something of that nature, it is always nice to take advantage of a good deal. But one recent PlayStation Store listing seems to be the opposite of a discount.

GreedFall is one of January's PS Plus free games, along with Maneater and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. But instead of GreedFall being free, players were expected to pay remarkably more, before the issue was quickly addressed.

The issue seems to have since been taken care of for most, but it is certainly a comical one. Players were shocked to discover that GreedFall was posted on the PS Store for a whopping £10,000. There is quite a difference between free and £10,000 (about 13,607.75 USD). While GreedFall was received relatively well critically, it would be difficult to justify anyone shelling out that kind of money for the action role-playing game developed by Spiders.

The first batch of free games with the PlayStation Plus membership for 2021 is a rather enticing one. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a highly regarded 2018 title and GreedFall is a game that many enjoy. The PS5 version of Maneater is the only PS5 version on the list, which is interesting to note, and may be the way the service continues on. PlayStation might try to spice up the PS5 titles on the list as much as possible from here on out so that players can enjoy free games on their new exciting next-gen console.

The PS Plus titles matter a lot because it is now competing, in many ways, with the ever-expanding lineup of Xbox Game Pass. Titles are added very often, as just recently seven more titles were added to the subscription service. Of course, the massive purchase of Bethesda last year makes it so that Microsoft is slowly but surely adding games like Doom, The Elder Scrolls, and more to the list as well. While adding a few free games per month is great for PS Plus members, it is now getting harder to compare against a line-up of hundreds of titles, like Xbox Game Pass.

If rumors are true about Xbox Game Pass adding Ubisoft+ as well, then PlayStation Plus would have even more to compete against. Of course, the games are what really matters. And with top-notch line-ups like God of War, Last of Us, Spider-Man, Horizon, and more, the games that Sony brings to the table are what the fanbase truly enjoys in the end.
