Some PlayStation gamers have begun to receive 10% discount codes just a few days after the most recent update for the official PlayStation App. These discount codes allow PlayStation fans to save some money on new game releases this month and the biggest games of 2022.

The PlayStation Store regularly hosts major sales on games and DLC for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This past January, the PlayStation Store refreshed its holiday sale for the new year, allowing players to score discounts on even more PS4 and PS5 games. The holiday sale period is over now in the PlayStation Store, but PlayStation players can still save some money by keeping an eye out for publisher sales and redeeming digital credit through the PlayStation Stars loyalty program. Additionally, some gamers have begun to earn discount codes for future purchases directly from the PlayStation Store.

PlayStation Network users may receive a 10% discount code by checking their PlayStation App inbox, according to Push Square. The 10% discount code applies to all items in a PlayStation Store cart, so players may opt to purchase popular PS4 and PS5 games in a single, discounted transaction. The 10% discount lasts through the month of February, so those lucky enough to receive the discount code must use it before March arrives.

The discount code is only applicable within the PlayStation App, which has access to the PlayStation Store. Each discount code is unique to the user and must be entered during the payment process in the PlayStation App. As a result, these discount codes cannot be shared with another user and must be used during February 2023.

The discount code rollout appears to be Sony's initiative to encourage PlayStation gamers to use the PlayStation App. Specifically, Sony may be trying to increase usage of the PlayStation App by giving players a discount on their next purchase in the PlayStation Store. It will be interesting to see if Sony works to introduce more PlayStation Stars rewards and benefits, which could give users another reason to visit the mobile app's PlayStation Store.

The PlayStation App's latest update introduced new color schemes such as Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, and Starlight Blue. These new color schemes caused speculation about potential new PS5 themes in a future firmware update, but Sony has not confirmed any definitive plans for PS5 themes. In the meantime, players may explore the PlayStation App, try out one of the new color schemes, and save money with the new discount code.
