Sony held its final Playstation State of Play live stream of 2019 this morning and announced some release dates for hotly anticipated PS4 games. New trailers and announcements regarding Resident Evil 3Babylon's Fall, the Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC, and more upcoming releases and PS4 ports were revealed.

It was a brief 25 minute presentation, but it packed in a bunch of trailers and information. However, notably absent were any true surprises or brand new game announcements. Regardless of this slight disappointment, the presentation still managed to show off a lot of Sony's early 2020 game offerings, so here is everything Sony revealed at the December 10 Playstation State of Play.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is out in April, includes Project Resistance

At the start of the stream, Resident Evil 3 was teased with the menu sound effect from the classic Resident Evil games. The biggest announcement of the event came at the very end and was a great moment of Sony pulling the rug out from under fans. Before the trailer, the announcer introduced it as the "campaign mode" for Resident Evil: Project Resistance. It turns out that Project Resistance has been folded into RE3 and will be included as a multiplayer mode when the game releases on April 3.

The trailer begins with a first-person segment of Jill running from something, presumably Nemesis. Indicators like the yellow tape used in those games when she jumps out a window onto a fire escape hints that it's in the same engine as the remake of Resident Evil 2 and RE 7. The trailer shows some brief third-person gameplay as well. Presumably the game will have the same over-the-shoulder perspective as RE2 remake, and players who preorder will be able to access the classic costume pack.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC Release Date

The first DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3 is entitled Re:Mind and officially got a release date at this State of Play. The expansion will be releasing on January 23 and a year after the game first launched. The DLC will feature new playable characters and seems to be picking up the story from where the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 left off. The trailer showed gameplay of Kairi as a new playable character and teased Riku at the very end, while there are plenty of other tiny details in the trailer for fans to anxiously dissect while they await the release next month.

Untitled Goose Game coming to PS4

The comedy smash hit of the year, and one of the best indie games of 2019Untitled Goose Game is finally coming to PS4. Playstation 4 owners will finally be able to honk around and cause mischief as everyone's favorite goose on December 17. The game is currently available on Switch, Xbox One, PC, and Mac, but was not initially released on PS4.

More Ghost of Tsushima  at the Game Awards

The "one last thing" moment of today's State of Play came in the form of a teaser trailer for Ghost of Tsushima, the upcoming Samurai action game from inFamous development team Sucker Punch. The full trailer will be shown at The Game Awards on this coming Thursday night, as all has been pretty silent on the Ghost of Tsushima front since E3 2018, where it was one of four titles Sony showed.

The teaser itself really didn't show much, but the cinematics showed the beginnings of an encounter between the samurai, who will be the player character, against a squad of soldiers. Hopefully, this tease implies that gameplay will be shown at The Game Awards. Perhaps a release date is in the cards, too. It's hard to tell, but Ghost of Tsushima still seems a ways off.

Dreams gets a release date

The latest creative toolset from Little Big Planet developer Media Molecule finally has a release date. Dreams looks like a miraculous piece of game making content, providing players with the tools to create infinite possibilities across endless genres of games. Players with early access to the game have already recreated some classic Playstation games in Dreams prior to the full launch on February 14, exclusively on Playstation.

Babylon's Fall gameplay revealed

The latest action game from Platinum Games and Square Enix, whose previous collaborations have resulted in the cult favorite Nier: Automata, is called Babylon's Fall, which received new gameplay in the State of Play trailer. The game certainly seems to have Platinum's stylish sense of action, but the combat seems more focused on one-on-one encounters and boss fights as opposed to dealing with large mobs of enemies. Not much else is known about Babylon's Fall, but the trailer said more will be revealed in Summer 2020.

Predator: Hunting Grounds and many other new trailers

Plenty of games got some new trailers but not a whole lot of new information or release dates. Predator Hunting Grounds, the upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game set in the Predator universe, now has a release date. A trailer showed off some gameplay of the different Predator classes and weapons before confirming that the game is coming to PS4 on April 24.

There were plenty of smaller announcements as well. The PSVR exclusive Paper Beast got a new gameplay trailer and a release window for Q1 2020, the spell-casting battle royale Spellbreak is getting a closed beta on PS4 in Spring 2020, and the physics based puzzle game Superliminal got announced for Playstation 4 with a new trailer as well.

None of these were major announcements, but the trailers made up the majority of the run time of the State of Play. Hopefully, Sony fans will see more of the company's 2020 lineup at The Game Awards on Thursday, Dec 12. Either way, expect more State of Play presentations throughout the first half of the next year.
