Sony will be hosting its first State of Play presentation of 2021 on Thursday, February 25. The event will give players a look at upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games, though Sony stopped short of specifying which games will be on display. And while there has been one big so-called "leak" about what Sony has to show at the State of Play presentation, it is apparently fake.

In a thread discussing the PlayStation State of Play presentation for February 25, ResetEra user Acquiescence claimed that they had heard the presentation lineup from "reliable sources" on Discord. They said that the games to be showcased were Destruction AllStarsGodfallOddworld: SoulstormFive Nights at Freddy's, the Grand Theft Auto 5 PS5 portGoodbye Volcano HighAmong UsReturnalRatchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and finally, the hit indie game Hades. "Pretty hype huh? All of that packed into 30 minutes. Quite the feat."

Acquiescence's post started gaining traction online, reported on various news outlets and posted on other forums. However, a ResetEra moderator has since edited the post to add a disclaimer clarifying that Acquiescence's post was a joke post. However, some of the games mentioned by Acquiescence, like Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, do seem like pretty safe bets for the State of Play.

As for what else could be shown during the new PlayStation State of Play, that's anyone's guess. One theory is that the PlayStation State of Play will announce the free PS Plus games for March 2021. PlayStation usually announces the free games lineup during the early morning hours on the last Wednesday of every month, but it has yet to do so for the March lineup. An industry insider has made the claim that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be a free PS Plus game for March 2021, so it will be interesting to see if that's announced during the State of Play.

If Final Fantasy 7 Remake does come to PS Plus, perhaps it will be the rumored PS5 version. A Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS5 port has been rumored for some time, though what exactly it would bring to the table in terms of upgrades is unclear. Maybe fans will find out during the PlayStation State of Play, though it's also possible that they will need to wait a bit longer to find out more about that particular rumored game.

Other rumors point to a Last of Us 2 PS5 port, and of course, there's always the rumored Silent Hill PS5 reboot that fans hope to see. Fans should keep their expectations for the State of Play in check, however, and be sure to treat any "leaks" with a grain of salt.
