For over a decade, PlayStation has fostered a passionate Trophy hunting community that is determined to reach the max account level and earn as many Platinums as possible. Whether games like hunting for the most difficult Trophies available, or prefer breezing through easy Trophy shovelware to inflate their personal stats, many engage with a system on a regular basis. However, it is currently impossible for players to show off the Trophies they are most proud of.

With players gathering Trophies for years, even casual achievement hunters have surely collected a few Trophies that they are proud of. Whether it is a Trophy for taking down a God of War Valkyrie Queen or Malenia from Elden Ring, or a grindy Platinum that took 100 hours of hard work, gamers should be able to display some of their proudest achievements. Fortunately, PlayStation Stars provides a perfect example for how this could work, as its display case could be copied almost exactly to help deliver a fully functional Trophy cabinet.

PlayStation Stars Should Inspire a Trophy Case on PSN

While many will focus on completing campaigns purely to get rewards points that can be put toward free PS Store credit, some have been engaging with the digital collectibles of PlayStation Stars. From Secret Agent Clank himself to a PlayStation Eye camera, there have been a variety of items that pay homage to franchises and devices with deep ties to the brand. Once players acquire them, they can place them on a display case in their PSN profile for others to see.

While PlayStation Stars’ display case can unfortunately only be viewed on the mobile app, the concept is solid, as players can highlight their favorite digital collectibles in the case or use them as a way to show off their accomplishments. Once clicked, details are provided about the item and when it was acquired. This exact format could be perfect for a Trophy case, and with the Accolades feature set to be removed from PlayStation users' profiles with a future update, there will soon be an empty space that would be perfect for such a feature.

While players can view their own Trophies, or their friends' lineups, they have to scroll through pages of games to find the one they are looking for. Once found, they have to look through the list itself, as no search option is available. Considering that most gamers are unlikely to look through their friends’ entire Trophy collections, and will glance at their total Trophy count at most, many will fail to see the specific things players did to reach those numbers.

Considering that Trophies come with unique images attached, a Trophy case that players can fill up with 10-20 of their proudest unlocks could be incredible from a visual perspective. If gamers earned Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's difficult Blackout Trophies, for example, they could place them into their case for all to see. While browsing through someone’s collection of games to see what they have done is tedious, especially if that player has gone through a lot of games, a Trophy case with a carefully chosen lineup would be far more accessible. Once each Trophy in the case is clicked, details like earn date and rarity could be shown.

Unlike the PlayStation Stars display case, having this Trophy case show up on PSN profiles through the actual PS5 console would be preferable. If it were added, it would be a massive quality of life addition that lets players choose the most impressive feats from their hundreds of unlocked Trophies, attaching them to their account to highlight their favorite games or the greatest achievements in their PlayStation careers.
