The PlayStation 5 has been nothing short of a phenomenon since its release, although the shortage of this console has been a source of great annoyance for most fans. For the most part, the console's lack of availability hasn't stopped it from hosting a bunch of great games that are a blast to play through. This is especially true in the case of RPGs, which have almost become the bread and butter of this console for many.

However, not all RPGs need to be massive timesinks where players will be invested for hundreds of hours. The truth is that there are several games in this genre that don't take too much time and can even be finished in less than ten hours. The most notable examples in this regard are mentioned below.

6 ANNO: Mutationem

A game set in a cyberpunk world with a unique plotline is bound to generate some interest. This is precisely the case with ANNO: Mutationem, which came out of nowhere to become one of the better RPGs players can check out on their PlayStation 5.

A great thing about ANNO: Mutationem is that the game can be completed in less than ten hours, which will certainly delight gamers who aren't in the frame of mind to spend hours and hours on a single game. Mastering the amazing combat of this game and upgrading your skills with ease makes ANNO: Mutationem a highly underrated action RPG that any fan of the genre should definitely check out.

5 Godfall

godfall 1

The idea of a fantasy game using concepts generally present in looter shooters to give a steady drip of equipment is pretty intriguing, and Godfall definitely looked like it would be up to the mark when it was announced way back in the day. Many people were hyped to see how this unique take on the genre would play out, but Godfall didn't really do justice to its concept all that much.

Thankfully, players who just want to check out this unique concept without too much of a deep dive can definitely finish this game off in ten hours or less. It's a fun game early on, but the steady creep of loot is too slow and boring to warrant investing too much time into this game. It doesn't help that the game feels a bit too generic at times too.

4 Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition

Soulslikes have become all the rage in modern times, and the wild success of Elden Ring means that more games with the same design philosophies will make an appearance further down the line. Mortal Shell is one such title that has its own unique spin on the concept of Soulslikes, with the game receiving an enhanced edition that was released on the PlayStation 5.

Players who blast through the game's content can definitely finish this game in less than ten hours... but, honestly speaking, this is not the recommended way to play the game at all. Instead, players should ideally explore the game world to their heart's content and figure out all the secrets that are present here as well.

3 Utawarerumono: ZAN 2

Utawarerumono ZAN 2

Utawarerumono: ZAN 2 is the only game on this list that is yet to be released in the West. This is pretty surprising, especially since the first game's English translation actually had decent sales and was quite fun to play through. The fact that the second game is yet to receive a translation is pretty odd, and heartbreaking for hardcore fans of this title.

This action RPG features both single-player and co-op gameplay, making it a blast either alone or with friends. While the very idea of an English translation now seems pretty far-fetched, players who either know a bit of Japanese or don't mind missing out on the plot should definitely check this game out!

2 Undead Horde

Undead Horde

In a world where necromancers are being hunted to the brink of extinction, you serve as one of the dwindling necromancers who will need to raise the dead and fight against the enemies who want your kind to vanish into nothingness. 1 Warsaw

Warsaw combat tutorial

World War 2 is a setting that has seen its fair share of first-person shooters since this is naturally the first genre that people associate with this massive war. However, the fact remains that both World Wars were extremely tactical and brutal confrontations where death could arrive at the drop of a hat.

Warsaw understands the brutality of war and integrates it within a turn-based tactical RPG that will absolutely punish players who don't realize the gravity of fighting in a war. Each encounter is pretty tense, and players will need to employ every tactic they have to come out victorious.
