During the month of September, PlayStation Plus subscribers were given what has arguably been the best offer of free games for the year so far, with the subscription service having provided players with both Destiny 2 and God of War 3 at no additional cost. Now, however, it looks as if a couple of the titles for October 2018 could wind up topping the games being offered to PS Plus members this month.

As seen in the image below, the PlayStation Plus subreddit user known as "Aecesaje" claims that both Nioh and Diablo 3: Eternal Collection showed up in the PlayStation Store, but if the games are selected, they don't show up. If Aecesaje is to be believed, then this could be an indication of a bug occurring and unintentionally displaying the titles as free PS Plus titles incredibly early, but it's unclear if that's the case.

While there's no doubt that PlayStation Plus subscribers would rejoice at the inclusion of Nioh and Diablo 3: Eternal Collection as the free games for October 2018, it's worth noting that the image above could simply be a hoax. After all, in an era where photo and video editing software can be used by practically anyone with relative ease, it's not too outlandish to think that to be the case here. In fact, there was once an exciting possibility of February 2018's PS Plus games being Dark Souls 2 and Far Cry 4, but that leak ended up being a fake.

All things considered, we will simply have to wait and see what Sony has in store for PlayStation Plus subscribers in several days from now, as the company typically shares its free game picks for users during the last week of the month. Until then, PS Plus members can at least bide the time with solid selections provided for September.

The PlayStation Plus free games for October 2018 have yet to be officially announced.
