Sony reveals the free PlayStation Plus games for June 2016, which includes the likes of indie darling Gone Home, horror game Siren: Blood Curse, and more!

As is to be expected at the end of the month, Sony has announced the next batch of games that will be free to PlayStation Plus subscribers. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita owners can all look forward to two games apiece, and the selection available on PlayStation Plus is quite varied.

Beginning June 6th, PS4 gamers can download NBA 2K16 for free. The latest game in the long-running basketball franchise 2K Sports, NBA 2K16 is coming to the service just in time for the NBA Finals. Since NBA 2K16 still goes for full price on the PlayStation Store, getting it for free is a steal.

The other PS4 game in the PS Plus lineup for June is the indie darling Gone Home. Gone Home was one of our favorite games of 2013, and earned various awards from other industry publications as well. It's relatively short in length, however, which some gamers may be able to look past if they are getting it for free with their PlayStation Plus subscription.

Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 owners also have a couple of new games to download. First is the artsy puzzle game Echochrome, which released to decent reviews in 2008. The other is the episodic Siren: Blood Curse, a survival-horror game that was praised for its haunting atmosphere. With Sony's E3 2016 press conference scheduled to take place a week after Siren is added to the PS Plus free games lineup, perhaps its inclusion is a hint that a new Siren game will be revealed at the event for PlayStation 4.

Another possible hint at what Sony has in store for its E3 2016 press conference can be found with one of the PS Vita's free June games, God of War: Chains of Olympus. Originally released for the PlayStation Portable, God of War: Chains of Olympus received a graphical upgrade in its transition to the PS Vita, which may make it worth playing through again, even for those that have already conquered it on other platforms. Maybe Chains of Olympus being free in June is Sony's way of teasing that a new God of War game will be revealed at this year's E3 event.

The other free PS Vita game was a launch title for the system when it released back in 2012. Its called Little Deviants, and basically serves as a tech demo for the various features that the PS Vita brings to the table. While Little Deviants didn't earn critical acclaim, it could be a game that is good in short bursts.

These games will be added to the lineup of free PlayStation Plus games on June 6th. Players have until that time to download May 2016's free games for PlayStation Plus, so be sure to do that before they're gone.
