A new round of PlayStation Plus titles has been revealed as February comes to an end and March approaches. And with the line-up, which may be the best set of PlayStation Plus games in some time, comes some important news. Sony revealed its tentative plans to end PlayStation 3 and PS Vita support in PlayStation Plus. Don't panic just yet, though. Support won't be ending until March 2019.

What Sony means when it says PlayStation Plus support for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita will end in March 2019 is that no new games will be added for those platforms through the service. All games previously downloaded for both platforms will remain in players' libraries, so long as they remain subscribers. Everything is remaining the same, just no new games.

Sony doesn't promise any direct additional benefits for PlayStation Plus subscribers, such as an increased number of PlayStation 4 games each month, as part of this announcement. But the company does allude to future changes by mentioning "PS4 monthly games" as a priority for the service in the future.

PlayStation Plus for March 2018 Adds Bloodborne - Ratchet & Clank

For the time being, PlayStation Plus support continues as normal. March 2018 will feature two PlayStation 4 titles, two PlayStation 3 titles, and two PS Vita titles, some of which are cross-platform. Here's the line-up of games, as announced today:

  • Bloodborne (PS4)
  • Ratchet & Clank (PS4)
  • Legend of Kay (PS3)
  • Mighty No. 9 (PS3, PS4)
  • Claire: Extended Cut (PS Vita, PS4)
  • Bombing Busters (PS Vita, PS4)

As a bonus in March, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to purchase an exclusive microtransaction pack for Dungeon Defenders 2. The pack includes 4 Shadow Costumes, 1 million gold, 5 Campaign Shard Packs, 5 Defender Packs, and a Ninja Gato Pet. The DLC will be available between March 13 and April 10.

Altogether March is looking like a stellar month. Just Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank, two excellent exclusives for the PlayStation 4, make this one of the best months of the PlayStation Plus service yet. Everything else is just icing on the cake, especially considering three additional games are PS4 compatible.

PlayStation Plus titles open up on the first Tuesday of each month, so look forward to Bloodborne and all of the new games starting February 6. And don't forget to pick up February's PlayStation Plus games, including Knack and Rime, before their availability expires.
