As another month rolls around, PlayStation Plus subscribers have been patiently waiting to find out what free games await them. Now, Sony has confirmed the games available for users for April 2017. For starters, two PS4 games are going to be up for free, with Sony announcing both Drawn to Death and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime as the PS4 games for April 2017.

The release of Drawn to Death for PlayStation Plus was actually confirmed previously by David Jaffe, the former God of War director who set up Drawn to Death studio The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency. Jaffe revealed that the online multiplayer shooter would be available for free for PS Plus subscribers, with the game due to release on April 4.

It's another month with an independent games focus for PlayStation Plus users, as shown by the other PS4 game available, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. The title has become something of a darling of the indie scene for its couch co-op focus, with players tasked with piloting a ship through a vibrant galaxy with the assistance of other players.

It's not just the two PS4 titles that will be available to subscribers, either. Alongside the two current-gen games, a pair of PS3 games will also be up for grabs in the form of Invizimals: the Lost Kingdom and Alien Rage - Extended Edition. As well as this, two more games from the PS Vita will also be available for download, with PS Plus users able to check out 10 Second Ninja and Curses 'n Chaos, both with crossbuy on PS4.

So far, however, the reaction of subscribers to this new batch of games has not exactly been enthusiastic. It seems as though the PS4 pair has not stoked the fires of PS Plus user interest thus far, and it's understandable that some may feel as though there's been a dip in game profile in comparison to February's Little Big Planet 3 and Not a Hero.

That said, hopefully fans will find something to love among the games available. Drawn to Death has turned a lot of heads with its eye-catching graphical style, while Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a supremely fun multiplayer title in terms of both online and offline play. Since the games will be available for free to subscribers, that's surely an opportunity to try something new.
